What is Life Coaching?

As defined by the International Coach Federation, life coaching is “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.” Coaching is not mentoring, counseling, or consulting. It takes a different approach to helping you make improvements in your life. You are the decision maker, your coach assists you with making goals and staying on track to achieve those goals.

I believe each of us has the power to create the life we long for. Many people struggle as I did with finding their way and creating the happy life they’ve always pictured for themselves. You cannot control other people and sometimes situations throw us in unexpected directions, but you do have the power to take control of your life. You can push your path in the right direction. Your journey is your story. I’m here to help “edit” that story as you see fit. You’re in the driver’s seat.

There are many different styles of life coaching and it’s important for you to find one that works best for you. All of my coaching is done online. I focus on spiritual awareness, raising your energetic vibration, and awakening the power that you hold within yourself! Read the weekly blog to get started. Do as much or as little as you want, it’s up to you.

Get Inspired

Every single person on this earth is here right now for a purpose. I’ve asked myself, God, and the universe what my purpose is. I pray and meditate for divine guidance daily. It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day activities and drama. You lose sight of where you’re going. But I KNOW I’m not here to just go through the motions. I’m here to inspire, enlighten, guide, and empower others.

There are still days when I have a tough time finding inspiration and listening to guidance. I struggle with wondering if I’m making the right choice, or if that path is really the one I’m supposed to take. It’s hard to let go and trust. Especially when sometimes it feels like all the forces of the universe are working against you.

If you feel strongly about doing something, then do it! If you feel compelled to take a certain path, then take it! If there’s something that keeps showing up to you and you just can’t shake it, then embrace it! Trust that you are drawn to what you’re good at. Trust that divine guidance is showing you your purpose. It’s been there all along, you just have to be open to it.

Get Back in Your Seat!

Fear is a wonderfully amazing thing that we’ve been equipped with to keep us safe. Our brains are wired to kick in whenever a threat is perceived. If your brain senses danger, a cascade of incredible reactions begins within your body. Your heart starts pumping faster, feeding your cells with the oxygen needed for the anticipated fight or flight you’re about to engage in. Your breath becomes faster and more shallow to quickly provide more oxygen. Your senses begin to heighten. Every function that isn’t necessary for survival in that moment slows so more energy can be used in the fight or flight.

This is great, if you’re in actual immediate danger. Like running from a bear in the woods for instance. But if you’re just going through every day life and something happens (perhaps an opportunity to speak in front of an audience) the fear response may kick in when you don’t need it to. Some people even live in a constant state of fear. Health professionals like to call this “anxiety.”

Anxiety happens when you live inside your head. If you stop and pay attention you will actually feel that you are occupying the top third of your body. That may sound strange, but hear me out. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. This means that your spiritual self can concentrate in any one part of your body, leaving the rest feeling empty. Living like this for extended periods of time causes all sorts of physical and emotional problems.

There is a simple solution, though. Tune into the way you feel. Pay attention to what your body is telling you. Whenever you start to feel that you’re occupying the top third of your body, stop and take a moment to ground yourself. Grounding means pulling your spirit back down to where it’s meant to be. Your spirit is designed to take a seat in your belly, just below your navel. In order to bring it back down, you need to breathe. Take a deep breath in and concentrate on pushing your diaphragm down towards your belly button as you breathe in. Your shoulders should not really move at all. Breathe in slowly and deeply. You can even picture your spirit moving back down and taking its seat below your navel. As you breathe out drop your shoulders.

Make it a point to practice putting your spirit back on its seat daily. Over time you will come to live in a more grounded state and your “anxiety” will cease to exist.

Daily Manifestation

Do you wish you could be better at manifesting the life you want? Is there something you’ve been wanting, but having trouble making it happen? Would you like a 5 minute exercise you can easily do every day to help you manifest more? If so, then you’re going to want to bookmark this page!Just follow these 4 simple steps.

1. Stand in Front of a Mirror

Ideally, the mirror should be big enough that you can see your entire body, but if it’s not that’s ok. Take a good look at yourself. Don’t judge, just look. Now, look yourself in the eye and say, “I love you.”

2. Take 3 Deep Breaths

Inhale through your nose and exhale out your mouth. As you inhale think love. As you exhale feel your body relax and become grounded. It helps to let out a “sigh” as you exhale. Repeat three times.

3. Imagine the Possibilities

Think about all the things you want to manifest. See yourself having them. Notice how you will feel when you’ve manifested the life of your dreams. If there’s something in particular you’ve been trying to manifest, really focus on having it.

4. Say it Out Loud

Talk about what you are going to do and what you will have, but make it in the present tense. As you repeat it, believe it. Continue to visualize having what you want as you tell yourself you already have it. Make it feel real. For example, “I make $7,000 per month with ease.” Or “I eat only healthy foods that nourish my body and stick to my exercise routine every day.” Or “I live on a sailboat with my partner exploring the world coast to coast.” Whatever you say, make sure you believe it.

That’s it! Follow these 4 simple steps every day and watch as you start manifesting the life you’ve been dreaming of!

Ready or Not…

Are you stuck in the “I’m not ready yet” trap? Is there something that you’ve been wanting to do or have, but you’re trying to get everything prepared and perfect before taking that step? Well, I’ve got news for you! DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT!!

I’m a perfectionist, so when I first heard that statement it was hard for me to swallow. Many of us have been told from an early age that if you’re going to do something then make sure you do it right the first time or you’ll have to do it all over again. That would mean that your first effort was a complete waste of time and energy. No one wants their time and energy to be wasted, so we put a lot of thought into our first effort to make sure we get it right.

What if I told you that’s all complete bullshit?! There is no “getting it right” because everyone’s definition of right is different. The right way to you is something different than the right way to me. What we see as right is simply what we’ve been taught to believe. Abraham says, “A belief is just a thought that you keep thinking.” So, stop thinking and start doing!

When my husband and I first started talking about having kids, we discussed that we weren’t financially ready. We wanted things to be all set in place and ready for us to start a family. I’ll never forget what my mother-in-law said to us because it was the best advice she could’ve given us. She said “If you wait until you’re ready, you’ll never do it.” We took that advice and now we have 2 amazing kids that probably wouldn’t be here if we’d waited until we were ready. (I’m not saying go out and have a couple of kids if you don’t feel ready for that!)

The concept of done>perfect is one that keeps showing up to me. I’ve heard it in several entrepreneurial resources, in many different ways, but it’s always the same concept. They advise “do it before you’re ready,” “fake it until you make it,” “done is better than perfect,” “don’t wait until you’re ready to do it,” “jump in head first,” “take a leap of faith,” and so on. My advice to you is that if there’s something you’ve been preparing for or longing to do, then do it! Stop putting it off trying to make sure everything is perfect! Just get it done. You can figure out all the little details later. One thing I’ve learned in business (and life) is that everything is always changing, so what’s perfect for today might not be so perfect for tomorrow. You’ll probably end up changing it later anyway, so just get it done! Your efforts are never a waste of time.

Ready or not, get it done!

Angry Girl

Have you ever noticed when you’re angry that anger likes to unpack and stay awhile?

When I first started my emotional freedom journey, and even before, I felt rooted in my anger. It was easy to be annoyed, frustrated and even angry at the littlest thing. And it felt comfortable. I’m still not sure why, but whenever I got angry I would hold on to that. I stewed on it and even resented the people that tried to make me feel better.

Was I crazy? I mean who actually wants to hold on to anger? That would be silly, right?! Well, in my research I’ve found that it happens more often than you’d think. There are all sorts of books and programs designed to help people let go of their anger. These things wouldn’t exist in such large volumes if there wasn’t a need.

If you’re struggling with holding on to anger, I want to help you. First, you need to know you’re not alone. Second, you should realize that you’re not crazy. And third, I want you to know that you can let it go!

Anger grows deep roots and will hold on for dear life! But with time and diligence you can release it. Start by asking divine guidance for assistance. A simple prayer each day will set you on the right path to continue releasing the anger that is seated so deeply inside. “Spirit Guide, thank you for showing me the path to my truth. Thank you for helping me release my anger and forgive those that have crossed me.”

Throughout the day come back to this prayer and use the following mantra to help keep you on the path. “Today I am releasing anger. I choose love instead.” Whenever you feel anger, annoyance, frustration, resentment or something similar, just repeat the mantra. Remember you’ve got this! Notice how you feel at the end of the day and journal about your experience.

When you hold onto anger, you’ve got less room for love. Let it go!

Onward and Upward

If you read my last post, you may be a little scared right now. That’s ok!! If it doesn’t scare you to grow and change, then you’re not doing it right.

My last post wasn’t written to scare you, though. I just want you to be prepared for what’s to come. I believe that if you’re prepared and ready for the pitfalls, then it will be easier for you to overcome them and keep going.

The upside of spiritual growth is that you won’t be bothered by the setbacks because you are thankful for them. You can see that they serve a purpose in your journey. When you open your mind to this new way of thinking, you become more resilient and stronger than you ever were before.

Start believing things will go right, and they will. As you work on raising your vibe, the universe will answer with higher vibes and you will begin receiving things you never before believed were possible. When you open your mind up to possibilities, the possibilities open themselves up to you!

So, do whatever it takes to raise your vibrations! Clean up the clutter, slap a fresh coat of paint on the walls, buy some new house plants, surround yourself with bright colors, open the windows to let light and fresh air in, listen to every positive message you can get your hands on, etc. Let the universe know you’re ready for the amazing things it has to offer and open yourself up to receiving them!

Here Comes the Ego!

I felt lost, stuck, and frustrated. Over the course of 9 years my life had changed dramatically. I had gone from carefree single 20-something girl to wife and mom (and mom again). We had moved several times and I had changed jobs multiple times. I felt like I had no clue what I was doing or what I should be doing with my life. I knew something needed to change, but didn’t know where to turn.

I started reading and researching “self help” books, videos, podcast, and other resources. I found some that I liked and started doing the work. I felt my mindset change and my attitude begin to shift. I was making small changes and beginning to feel better. And then the problems began!

It never seemed to fail! Every time I would have a glimpse of hope, something would swoop in and take it away. Usually it wasn’t anything catastrophic, but just enough to set me back in my growth journey. Something to make me question what I was doing. Something to make me think it really wasn’t working, that all this work I was doing was for nothing and it didn’t matter. I felt like it didn’t matter what I did or how much I tried, because something would inevitably happen to counteract it.

You see, when you start your spiritual journey to happiness, you will be attacked. This is a concept taught to Christians when we begin to accept Christ as our lord and savior. We are taught that satan will begin to attack us to try to turn us away from God. It’s the same concept that spiritual teachers refer to as “ego.” This is a different ego than the one you’re used to hearing about. This ego is basically your resistance to change. It makes you think that every little thing that goes wrong is directly related to the changes that you’re making in your spiritual growth and that change is bad. The ego likes to be in control and when you take that control away, the ego fights back.

This is your warning! If you’re starting or working on your own spiritual growth be ready for the set backs and pitfalls. Get ready for the roller coaster ride because it’s going to be the most exciting, disappointing, fun, exhausting, ugly, beautiful experience you’ve ever had!
